How Much Can a Savvy Credit Card Rewards User Earn in One Year? A Lot

For many savvy credit card users, credit card rewards add up to a mere one or two percent of annual spending. As a credit card enthusiast, my goals are somewhat loftier. By maximizing the cash back and loyalty reward points I earn, I have been able to increase my reward card earnings far beyond that point and amass over $5,000 in rewards during a single year.

No reward card enthusiast’s wallet would be complete without at least one cash back credit card. I earn about $5-10 each month in cash back from my Simply Cash American Express business card, which I use just for office supplies and wireless bills to take advantage of the 5% cash back this card offers in these categories. Get 5% Off at Target With the REDcard

I’m not normally a fan of store credit cards, but I recently looked into the Target REDcard, and I have to say that it looks quite good. This past weekend, my wife and stopped in at our local Target store for some early Christmas shopping. While there, I picked up a pamphlet about the REDcard and gave it a quick once over.

Hmmm… Not too shabby. Yes, it’s a store-branded credit card, but it’s an actual Visa card that you can use anywhere you please. On top of that, you get 5% cash back on all Target purchases. And for every five prescriptions you buy with it (from the Target pharmacy, of course) you get an additional 5% at Target for an entire day.

This is not to be confused with the Target Credit Card, which can only be used at Target, but still offers the cash back rewards. Interes

Public Adjusters & Insurance Lawyers Have Unique Responsibilities to Property Owners

Both insurance dispute lawyers and public insurance adjusters have their own responsibilities to clients during insurance disputes. Understandably, many insured persons are confused by the particular services that an attorney and a public insurance adjuster provide for their clients in disputed insurance claims. This article discusses some of the important differences between the two.

The Role of a Public Insurance Adjuster

A public insurance adjuster generally must hold a license or certification issued by the state in which he or she operates.

A PA can often provide valuable, efficient and relatively inexpensive services for policyholders. Full Post…

Troubled care home firm Southern Cross last night held a last-ditch meeting with landlords, bankers and government officials to avoid financial meltdown.

It is considering handing over two thirds of its homes – 500 – to other operators in a bid to stave off bankruptcy.

The deal is designed to allay fears that frail and elderly residents may suffer disruption if the company collapses.

It could also help restore confidence in the company in a bid to stem the decline in the number of residents.

Some 31,000 vulnerable residents at the company’s 750 care homes will be hoping the change of ownership will not affect their care.

The biggest landlord, NHP, is expected to allow Southern Cross  to continue running the 249 homes it rents to the company.

Southern Cross is in crisis because it cannot afford to pay the full rent on its homes.

The travel reward credit card business began with frequent flier cards tied to specific airlines that typically required consumers to spend heavily before earning enough miles to extract any benefit from their cards. Today, consumers have the choice of several high quality general reward credit cards that are not specifically tied to travel, but which are geared towards consumers who want to earn travel rewards without hitching their wagons to a single airline.

Competition between credit card companies seeking new customers in this segment is intense.

What Do You Do With Your Spare Change?

Earlier this week I ran across a story about a guy named Danny who uses a coin jar to supercharge his savings. Whenever he spends cash, he makes a point of not using his change – and when he receives additional change, he collects it in a jar back at home before taking it to the bank.

I’m sure we’ve all done this to a certain extent, but Danny managed to save $723 over a seven month period by doing this. To be fair, Danny lives in Canada, where there are no one dollar bills. Thus, he gets a lot of “loonies” and “toonies” (one and two dollar coins) in change, which help to supercharge his change jar.

Given our general distaste for dollar coins here in the States, you’d have to spend an awful lot of money to pile up change at the same rate that Danny does. After all, give
