House Prices: Window of opportunity beginning to close

There have been conflicting opinions as to where housing prices are headed. We want to give our opinion on this subject for the short term. We believe sellers have a window of opportunity for the next 90-120 days in most parts of the country in which to sell their homes for maximum price. We believe there will be increased downward pressure on home prices throughout the rest of the year.

Why renewed downward pressure?

Any item’s price is determined by ‘supply and demand’. In many parts of the country, existing housing inventory has dropped to historic norms in the last few months. However, an inventory of distressed properties (foreclosures and short sales) will be coming to market this year. This

Who could be in the best position to capitalize on this growth? A number of factors will obviously influence an advisory firm’s ability to attract female clients, or a larger share of their existing female clients’ assets.

But a preliminary finding from an InvestmentNews ‘Women & Investing’ survey, which we pushed into the field yesterday, confirms what many of us already expected – and could offer a glimpse into the future of wealth management.

Roughly half of the female advisers surveyed yesterday – 49.3% to be exact – said that the majority of their clients are female.

High Street lenders are starving Britains small businesses of cash, the Bank of England has warned.

The Banks regional agents, which have grassroots contact with the business community, have reported that high street banks are increasingly reluctant to lend to the very small and medium-sized businesses the Government is relying on to drive economic growth.

3. JC Penney

In case youre wondering, the rated the stores based on quality, selection, value, checkout, service, and layout.

Heres my take on each of these:

1. I love, love, love Costco — its one of the companies I would (and do) promote for free.

2. We shop a lot at Kohls for clothes and tennis shoes.

3. I havent shopped much at JC Penney in the past several years.
